Title of Course: Indian Head Massage For Chair & Table

Description: Based on the ancient Indian healing system of Ayurveda, this technique has been practiced for over a thousand years. The massage is calming yet revitalizing, and focuses on the parts of the body most prone to tension and stress: the upper back, neck, shoulders, face and scalp. Indian Head Massage can help eyestrain and headaches, improve concentration, boost hair health, relieve shoulder tension, increase neck mobility, calm the mind and ease emotional stress. This technique is delivered with the client fully clothed using a chair or as part of a complete bodywork session using a table. The instructor includes organic Ayurvedic herbal scalp oils from Solavedi. This blissful technique offers gentle relief from physical ailments in addition to general relaxation. Great to add to onsite chair massage, for geriatric clients confined to a wheelchair or as a creative ending to a table massage.

Further Course Description: A calming yet revitalizing Ayurvedic technique that focuses on the parts of the body most prone to tension and stress: the upper back, neck, shoulders, face and scalp. Fijian To Go is a mobile adaptation of barefoot Fijian Massage requiring minimal equipment and supplies. It focuses on the back, shoulders, gluteals and legs and is great for sporting events, family settings, as well as your massage office. Therapists use different parts of their feet to effectively massage clients who are lying on the floor. It does not include walking on the client’s back. All strokes can be performed while standing, sitting on a chair or sofa, or reclining on the floor. No hands, arms or shoulders are ever used, making it truly a hands-saving technique that can add to your career longevity. Lolita Knight learned this barefoot technique while living in the remote villages of Kadavu and in 1997 she further developed and began teaching it in the United States. Instructor Debbie DeNardo received her Fijian Massage training directly from Lolita Knight and is continuing these teachings as Lolita prepares for retirement.

Supplies You Need To Bring: A flat sheet for the floor, 3 standard size pillows, 2 large bath towels, 1 hand towel and an armless chair (if not provided at the venue). Please wear loose cotton clothing, but no jeans. T- shirts and lightweight sweatshirts are best and to have a collar if possible. No straps or zippers.

Experiment with a variety of popular massage tools, some to be used only over clothing ("back rollers", "Magic Massager", "jack knobber", "spiky balls", "Aqua Cel Pad") and some to be used with oil on bare skin ("antler", "snail"). Others are dual purpose tools ("Thumbby", "octopus", "turtle", "Serpentine Stone") and many can be used for self-massage. You are encouraged to bring your own tools to possibly gain additional strokes or to learn how to properly handle and not grip them. The goal is for you to have less muscular discomfort after using these tools and to find a tool or two to add to your massage offerings to further benefit your clients and enhance your business.

Title of Course: The Infant Massage USA® Educator Training

Course/Seminar Description: The Infant Massage USA® educator training is an evidence-based comprehensive 4-day training course. The course covers all aspects of instructing parents on infant massage as well as supporting and loving their babies through nurturing touch. Personal development of the educator is an integral part of the training. The opportunity to practice and teach the strokes as well as research and theory to parents prepares the student to organize and conduct classes, whether individual or group, with confidence.
