Massage Equipment - How To Decide What To Purchase!

How can you build and develop quality relationships with equipment and supplies that don't suit you and your clients needs? Earning clients trust and respect is much easier when you have all the right massage 'tools' you need.

Here are a couple of questions as a professional massage therapist you need to ask yourself before spending your hard earned money on any equipment or supplies. (After you understand these questions scroll to the bottom of this page for equipment listings!)

• Do you need to purchase equipment or is it provided for you?

• Are you stationary or are you a mobile massage therapist?

• What is your budget?

• Do you really need to purchase NEW equipment?

• Is there a warranty or guarantee with your purchase?

• What are the shipping and handling fees going to cost you?

• Is your purchase going to assist you in OVER-delivering to your clients??

How did you answer the questions above? Sometimes the results can be pretty interesting.

I notice many times that my "wants" are way ahead of my "needs." I may want a new piece of equipment with all the new features, but do I need it to really OVER-Deliver with the clients?? Probably not ;)

I've also noticed that 'how much disposable income I have at the time' affects my wants and needs as well. If I have the extra money to purchase a new piece of equipment, it's usually a want, not a need.

If my portable massage table was dropped and will not suffice, I "need" to purchase a new one, regardless of my budget.
